Handcrafted leather from a family-run atelier in Medellín.

Told by Lisa

The story, as it happened

2022

Beautiful, or comfortable. Never both.

After two years across Latin America, I landed in Miami with one realization: it was impossible to find shoes that were elegant and truly comfortable. Growing up in Brussels, I knew that middle ground existed — just not here.
2023 · January

So I founded Womads

I partnered with a family-run atelier in Medellín. When the first collection went live in January 2023, it was from my living room in Miami Beach.

From a tiny living room

I couldn’t have done it without friends and family. Especially my mom.

Expert craftsmanship

Every piece is cut, stitched and finished by skilled artisans, then inspected several times before it leaves Colombia.

Wear a full size?

That’s your Womads size! If you wear a 7, get a 7.

Attention half sizes!

Peep Toes: Size down. It’s best if they start a little snug so the leather has a chance to stretch and take on the shape of your foot.

Oxfords: You’ll likely want to size up to have room for socks. You can always tighten them with the laces!

Make sure to try your Womads at home first! If they aren’t the perfect fit, we have an amazing exchange policy for pairs in their original condition.

Measurement tips

Stand up and put your weight on your foot when measuring.
Measure the length of your foot from the tip of your longest toe to the back of your heel.
Expert tip: stand on a sheet of paper and draw your foot’s outline to get very accurate measurements.

Made By Women For Women

I'm Lisa, and I was SO tired of choosing between cute shoes and comfortable ones. So I created Womads — handcrafted leather flats and crossbody bags designed by me and hand made by a family-run team of expert leather artisans in Colombia.
